Spanish organic production presents a profile of sustained growth that has positioned our country as the leading producer in the European Union. It occupies this position due to the use of a large area of orchards. At the end of 2015, Spain had about two million hectares under this production method. An extension that places our country among the five largest producers in the world. In the period 2010-2015 alone, growth has exceeded 19 per cent. However, taking into account the last ten years, the area under organic production has grown by more than 112%

Thus, organic production could be described rather than defined as a general system of agricultural management and production of agricultural products, combining best environmental practices. The high level of biodiversity, the preservation of natural resources, the application of high standards on animal welfare and the exclusive use of natural substances and processes, they achieve a production demanded by the strictest consumers. Organic production is an important instrument for promoting agrifood production for quality products that are environmentally friendly. It is clear, therefore, the dual purpose, marked public interest and satisfaction in the demands of a certain type of consumer, increasingly numerous.
